Yeah my thoughts exactly.
Although I don't mind the song particularly I probably wouldn't seek it out.
But it's not even in the same universe as classic Guess Who.
"No Time" or "American Woman" or "No Sugar" for instance.
Those songs are so iconic that it's tough to be the Guess Who and not...
Strangely I agree with both sentiments.
The singer is annoying. Also the way they are all nearly twins. For some reason that is annoying.
I think 3 of them are brothers? Or all of them and one was the milkman?
Not sure.
But they rock.
It does look like their image is 100% a costume.
I never liked Pearl Jam much.
They seemed be riding a wave more than having an unique sound.
More than the rest (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Tad etc) who all seemed to have an identity.
Pearl Jam just seemed like the amalgamation of all of the grunge stereotypes...
Not really a song battle but perhaps the battle behind all songs.
Who do you choose?
Jesus or Lucifer?
The criteria can be anything you like.
Who's more rock and roll?
Who's less boring?
Who has a better Mullet.
Only rule is NO SUCKING UP!
Even if your mortal soul may be on the line.
Yes...
I'm officially all over the map.
Not a lot of metal these days for me though.
Not that I don't love it but I'm in a much more ambient, background, mind funk, vibe music frame.
Metal just doesn't sit back there and mingle.
It's at the podium. Full attention at all times.
I love long jams while...
I enjoy it.
It's less "folk" than JBMD. More psychodelic.
More like shootout.
Love the War reference.
I listened to The World is A Ghetto on my ride into work this morning coincidentally.
I've been digging the War / Santana brand of tunes lately.
We listened to Santana live from 1970 at camp...
Bowie was one type of genius. And AC was a top notch show man.
Both are great but I'd say Bowie expanded the possibilities of rock and roll more.
His music was great back in the 70's when we were high a lot.
He's a mixed bag for me.
I end up agreeing with him on Guns but I suspect for very different reasons.
He's way too uptight on things like Weed.
For me the controlling statement is "Everything in moderation, including moderation".
Ted has no notion of moderation.
In rock and roll that's a good...
Ray has said that he and Dave have been spending some time together mending fences and that he and Mick Avery have been hanging BUT he has not had both Dave and Mick together in the same room.
This interview. He's very evasive about the reunion.
So counting chickens might be premature.
Drums is Mick Avery.
Which is amazing given the famous story about how he brained Dave Davies with a cymbal stand and then hid out for days believing he had killed him.
Kinks got screwed out of their place back in the day by being banned from the US while the Beatles and Stones took off.
I've always suspected dirty dealing.
