Within Temptation, 'The Black Symphony'. If you like symphonic metal and have never heard this then I recommend that you give it a go - their masterpiece and 'live' with an orchestra to boot. Classic!

I almost bought that album last week - but then the eBay auction price went up and I didn't bother bidding.

Pink Floyd (well, half) Return With New Music for Ukraine

Heard it. I know that it's all in a good cause, but I certainly won't be purchasing it. Sorry. Not even as good as anything on the very poor 'Endless River'.

    Guilty Pleasures

I've got this single. Came in a batch I bought for just one in there, 'I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)' by Genesis as it has the non-album 'Twilight Alehouse' on the B-side. Got some crackers in the box! ;)

Saw Graham Parker a few times back in the 70s too! Far and away his best gig was at Reading Festival in 1977. Some terrific albums to be hunted out for anyone new to him... Heat Treatment Howling' Wind Stick to Me Another Great Area The Parkerilla - double live album: superb!!

Best Forgotten Bands of the 70's.

I saw Sassafras several times in the 70s. They were another great little band who gigged a lot, were hugely underrated and deserved far more credit than they ever achieved. They cut three albums, the first being their best, and the last - 'Riding High' - being pretty unremarkable. Look out for...

    What was your first concert?

Bizarrely, two different first gigs! My mother took me to see Billy J. Kramer, Millie, The Purple Hearts, Peter Jay and The Jaywalkers, The Five Embers, and Margo & The Marvettes at Blackpool ABC on 17th May 1964. I was only six and obviously don't remember anything at all about it, although...

    I haven't heard this in ages !

I saw SALT at Reading Festival, August 1977. I don't remember much about them though; very low down on the bill and quite unremarkable, I'm afraid. My review of S.A.L.T.
