    i saw Rory a couple of times in London in the late 80s....one of them was at the Mean Fiddler in Harlseden in NW London..The Mean Fiddler were having a week of Irish rock music and Rory kicked off the week as the main act..it was being sponsored by Ryan Air..Gerry McAvoy fell of the stage that...

    i saw Rory mainly in Liverpool and Manchester, i originally come from the Wirral just across from the Mersey..also saw him in London a few times...really wish i had been born a decade earlier, then i would have seen him in his absolute prime.

    thats it..nice one....Rory finished about midnight and with Mildenhall being in the middle of nowhere and no chance of any public transport i spent the night under a tree with a few other fans waiting for the sun to come up and public transport to start up, thankfully it was a warmish dry night.

    hi Nai, i posted a load of Rory songs in the 'Music News' thread a couple of weeks back 'Remembering Rory.'...i see that next week Joe Bonamassa is playing 3 nights on the bounce in Cork, he is playing all Rory songs,,i wonder if he will be allowed to play Rorys old strat?...also about a month...

    i was living in Hong Kong when he died...i had no idea that he had become seriously ill, his illness was kept pretty quiet and not many knew about it...i only found out that he had passed away about 3 or 4 weeks after his death..there was no internet then, and living in HK i couldn't really keep...

    and nothing could ever beat Rory with those 'Bullfrog Blues.' recorded live at The Hammersmith Odeon in old London Town...This is how i best remember him, and this is the best ever live version of Bullfrog ever..SUPERB! MAGNIFIQUE! AMAZING!

    Rory live in 1974 at the Cowtown Ballroom, Kansas, USA, with his track 'Livin' Like a Trucker.'..i am pretty sure the entire Cowtown recording is out there on you tube somewhere..deffo worth a listen.
