Pink Floyd Reportedly Set to Release New Album This Fall

I like both Roger and David a lot and respect them but I enjoy David's solo material a lot more, Roger is so dark all the time and his music reflects that. The things that happened during and after The Wall set the framework for what happened next. I am just happy with the music PF made...

Pink Floyd Reportedly Set to Release New Album This Fall

If Roger invited David to collaborate on a couple tracks on one of his solo albums and then David reciprocated then I would have some faint glimmer of hope that just maybe......they would do one more Pink Floyd album and dedicate it to Richard Wright. I know Nick Mason gets overlooked in all...

Pink Floyd Reportedly Set to Release New Album This Fall

Yes I love the Division Bell myself Metalife, but when it comes to outtakes/demos/songs not good enough to make the Final Cut, then I can count on one hand with fingers left over how many CD's with bonus tracks I consider worthwhile. I like the finished versions that make it to the pressing...

Pink Floyd Reportedly Set to Release New Album This Fall

^^I tend to agree with you about asking Roger if he wanted to participate but then again after all the hard feelings they experienced all those years ago there is too much history to forget completely so David and Roger have worked out a relationship where they talk occasionally but getting...

Pink Floyd Reportedly Set to Release New Album This Fall

Not sure what to make of all this fuss over a few outtakes David & Company will update and release as a 'new' album. Guess I'll wait till it's released before deciding whether to get it or not.:hm:

Ok what's the deal with the ugly album covers lately?

Other than the iconic "Chicago" logo I've always considered the bands album covers to be generic.

    Dedicate a song to someone!

No Jake is right 'retired' means banned and Ladyislingering got what she deserved...it's not enjoyable to do that to a long time member after all the point is to include as many music lovers as possible in a forum like ours' but if you break the rules then there are consequences and she got what...

Most Overrated Album Of The 80s

The eighties get a lot of flak from many people but I enjoyed the hell out of that decade and like Dairenn preferred the music to what came in the 90's even though I understand what was going on, anyone who lived through the punk era knows that music goes through 'convulsions' and you never know...

The Who to Record New Album This Summer

I'll pass on the new album but kudos to Roger and Pete for recording new material I'm sure they would go crazy just playing old Who classics continuously...come to think of it that's what they've been doing since their "Official absolutely positively last Who concert tour ever so don't miss out"...

Most Overrated Album Of The 80s

Musikwala I agree with you 110% about Prince, I never got what people saw in him or his music it leaves me cold and I perennially have "Raspberry Beret" in my top 10 worst songs in history.:D

Ok what's the deal with the ugly album covers lately?

There have always been great album covers and crappy ones going back...well forever. But to me I LOVE it when a great album has fabulous cover art and the inside gatefold/sleeve are well done too. Chicago should look at some of the glorious metal album cover art over the last decade plus they...

    Tell us about your stereo!

Seems to be a lot easier to find parts for speakers than old vintage amps/receivers and there are some really good companies that specialize in making replacement parts that in some cases are improvements over the originals.

    Steve Walsh quits Kansas

I give them credit for going this long but for me the Kansas I loved ended when Kerry, Dave and Robbie left the band years ago. Still love Phil and Steve and their dedication to the band but this doesn't surprise me.

Groupies, Tattoos, and Glam-Rock: How Helsinki is the Sunset Strip of Europe

Yes I agree it's almost like a time warp and I for one am very happy they have kept the old metal fires burning and between them and many other European countries reinvigorated metal as a genre...although I get a headache trying to keep up with ALL the sub-genre classifications.:bonk: :gig

    Tell us about your stereo!

taha That's the reality of dealing with vintage gear, finding parts can be a major headache and if you can't then the substitutes don't always give the same sound as the originals did. But it's a labour of love at least to me it is, I paid $500 for a fully refurbished Yamaha CA-1010 a while...

Groupies, Tattoos, and Glam-Rock: How Helsinki is the Sunset Strip of Europe

Scandinavian countries seem to be a hot bed for metal a lot of my favorite new groups hail from there, not the death/black metal though...I leave those for Riff.:D

    Dream Theater thread

One of the bands that has more than one niche they could squeeze into, they're in the Prog section because there aren't many newer Prog bands around certainly not of their stature. Besides any band that played a complete live set of Dark Side Of The Moon gets my vote for prog.;)
