Stranger in Town by a light year.
That's probably the only album of Bruce's that I'd ever play on purpose and that's very very rare because I think the guy is one of the single-most overrated guys in the history of modern music.
LOVE Ronnie Milsap. This has long been one of my favorites by him. Have seen him in concert a few times over the years, always put on a good/entertaining show.
Love Bites, easily.
Hysteria is also a good tune, but on the same album as Love Bites, it never got the love it could have gotten on another album, maybe.
Presence, by default. Coda isn't even an album (in my opinion), but rather was just an after-the-fact cash grab. However, the reissue(s) of Coda would get my vote simply because of the inclusion of Hey Hey What Can I Do (which never made it on any proper album for some ungodly reason)...
@Trickster
I do love the Daryl Hall series where he brings out classic rockers out to his ranch for fun and jams. I have gone through quite a few of these in the past couple of months. Just came across the one where he has Cheap Trick out to his place.
They typically do about 6 or 7 songs...
That's too bad. I liked his voice and the albums that he did with Bad Company. I only saw Bad Company in concert one time, it was either the summer of 1990 or 1991 when they opened for Damn Yankees at an outdoor show. Great concert all the way around, other than Mick's guitar volume was so...
Sabbath. I like the Floyd track, but if you take the song out of the context of the concept album format, it is really a pretty silly tune. Gilmour's guitar work in the outro solo is the highlight.
Like both, but could also live without either song. Both of these tracks are each band's most overplayed song, which is a big part of the reason for my opinion.
Flip a coin. Hrmm... Eagles win this one, but only but a twist (or flip) of fate.
Midnight Rider
Like Free Bird, but mostly the second half of the song. The buildup and outro guitar work is awesome. The first 3 minutes of the song I've heard enough in my life that I can do without it.
Going to categorize this a bit because it's far too hard to narrow down.
Blues / Blues Rock:
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Joe Bonamassa
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Classic Metal:
Judas Priest
Black Sabbath
Iron Maiden
More modern metal :
(ie: 80's on forward - yeah I know IM and JP fit into this category as...
I'm taking this as songs that have the actual sounds of rain and/or thunder IN the song itself, not just a lyric or the title of a song.
Not rock, but a great country song:
Garth Brooks - The Thunder Rolls
Another good country track:
Clint Black - Like the Rain
That's how I felt about pretty much everything they ever put out before this album. Something on this album got me to listen more than once or twice and I do enjoy much of it, although it is repetitious as always. For me, on this album, the music grabbed me, far more than the vocals (as...
This. So much THIS!
:oy:
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is one song that should always be played as loud as you can handle it, even more so when it gets to the bridge! \m/
