    Aerosmith (Official Thread)

Not sure. We need a Classic Rock Forum algorithm to run this all through. lol For me, the thing that works against Van Halen is their longevity/productivity. The Van Hagar years helps their cause, but not enough. I know Cheap Trick has their fans and all, but to me, they're a second tier band...

Sure, you could argue it. I think the only legit argument would come from Kiss though. I don't think Cheap Trick is even close. Neither is Van Halen.

Review CD Review - Saxon - Hell, Fire and Damnation

They've been basically on fire since Lionheart. Their last 20 years has been amazing. I like HF&D, but it's nowhere near the best of this current run. It's solid, and at this point, I'll happily take it. Their productivity is incredible.

    Review Trapeze- Medusa (1970) ***

Seriously though, Trapeze is a huge hole in my listening experience. Might be a New Year's resolution to fix this. I read Glenn Hughes' autobiography, and he's really not the most likeable person. Amazing the guy is alive though and he still sounds great, even though BCC is pretty generic.

    Review AC/DC- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (1976, 1981 in U.S.) *** 1/2

That's fair, but I would say that Blow Up Your Video, being produced by Vanda & Young, has more of an old school feel to it. It's not a stadium styled wall of sound. And I think that Flick Of The Switch has generally aged pretty well.

My Top 20 Lists that I compiled as a kid 1973-1990

I wasn't old enough to see Boston in the 70's, but I did see them on the Third Stage tour. I saw the last of the NINE shows they played at the Worcester Centrum. They played the Third Stage album in its entirety. It was never a fave for me, as I was more into metal and hard rock, but it's a...

Why not post some '86 footage of Cheap Trick? It would make it more relevant to your list, no?

AC/DC Announces First North American Tour in Nine Years

Yeah, this is interesting. I used to think these tours were all about $$, but now I kind of have a more healthier respect for old bands like this. Angus and Brian do not need to do this, but they do because that's who they are. Well, good for them. I wouldn't spend a dollar on them and three...

My Top 20 Lists that I compiled as a kid 1973-1990

I loved Shooting Star. Being that they were from Missouri, they were a kind of poor man's Kansas, even having a violinist in the band. Their first three albums are really good, particularly 1981's Hang On For Your Life. Granted by the time they were opening for Heart in 1985, they had pretty...

Review CD Review - Todd Michael Hall - Off the Rails

Yes. Actually heard them before he joined Riot V. I have the first one on CD. Other than Todd’s pipes, they’re really not that great. His vocals are way more refined and controlled on the Riot V albums.

Review CD Review - Todd Michael Hall - Off the Rails

Oh I get it. It's a different style for sure, but I think it's a limiting style for his vocals. I think if you listen to this, you come away thinking, Jeez he's a good singer, but after listening to Riot V, you come away thinking holy shit this dude's amazing!! I definitely owe the album a...

    Bon Jovi (Official Thread)

I had respect for him, but it wasn't really anything I'd listen to. I honestly don't even remember seeing him, but it's in my notes. Same for Extreme on the KTF tour. I have zero recollection of seeing them.

Review CD Review - Todd Michael Hall - Off the Rails

At least this and Sonic Healing are better than what he was doing before which felt like light almost Christian music. Obviously his singing is great, but musically, this is so lightweight compared to the Riot V albums, where TMH REALLY shines. This style is so restrictive to what he can do...

Oh wow!! I was a big GnR fan back in the day, so a lot of it was interesting, but I thought his personal journey was just as interesting. I watched a bunch of interviews he did for the book on youtube and yes, he seems like a really cool and grounded guy. One thing that I particularly like...
