Pink Floyd Announce Reissues of Two ’80s Albums on Vinyl

No official mainstream release Laurie, just a few overpriced VHS to DVD burns, of dubious quality. Really not worth the money, and I say that as a MASSIVE Floyd fan. Surprised they haven't remastered to coincide with the albums, but I guess it's been overlooked due to the ongoing success of Pulse

    Gig reviews

Hi all I know there's a sub-forum for gig reviews, but..... It took me a while to find it. can't help thinking more of us might talk about gigs we've recently attended if the forum had a bit more prominence on the front page. Thoughts???

    "Pink Floyd" Pulse

I recall DG talking (maybe on UK radio 1 ) & saying that they wanted Pulse to be as accurate a rendition of the songs as they could possibly make it. Don't think there's much argument that they succeeded in that. Warts & all recordings tend to lose their appeal over time, I think, and that's...

Been away for a while due to travelling for work. Anyway, went to see a very good Floyd tribute band on Saturday night, which puts me in the mood for this...

    Led Zeppelin (Official Thread)

If you can live with the redubs, The Song Remains The Same is one hell of a live album. The remaster has Since I've Been Loving You, which previously was only on the video. Of the studio albums, Physical Graffiti was a monster album, but every album up to that point has some tracks that are...

    Your favorite Dire Straits album?

Went with Love Over Gold. Brothers in Arms was a great album but a bit poppy for me. Telegraph Road & Private Investigations carry Love Over Gold over the line for me

Do you have one top favourite music act?

Until maybe 10 years ago, I would always have answered Genesis But now, I feel Floyd have brought me more pleasure than any other band, over the 40 odd years I've been listening to music.

If you saw a classic rock band live, which had the best sound?

I'm lucky enough (and old enough) to have attended literally hundreds of classic rock gigs. Can't recall a band ever having a better live sound than Floyd, with the Pulse tour being particularly awesome. Genesis sound was always top notch too But as alluded to above, I think most of the big...

    Talking Heads (Official Thread)

Another reminder of advancing years! I absolutely love Talking Heads. Stop Making Sense is one of the best concert movies ever. Still remember listening to Remain in Light after munching some er... fungi. Listening Wind was particularly interesting.

Album knockout from 1966: Pet Sounds or Revolver?

Revolver for me. Understand the liking for Pet Sounds, but was never a great Beach Boys fan. Possibly because I grew up in Scotland
