I think it's fair to say that most of my favourite bands, from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Blackberry Smoke, wouldn't exist or at least not sound the way they do if not for Gregg Allman and The Allman Brothers Band. He had a golden voice and a special talent for song writing. People love to throw around words like the greatest, but in Gregg’s case, I truly believe he was one of the greatest. Thanks for the music, Gregg. 
He leaves a big hole in the music industry and his legacy will live on forever, so glad I caught you the other year.
