Midway Up The Ceiling
Wish they would come over here to the "colonies."
When I read that Jeff Lynne re-recorded some of the old ELO songs, I was hoping he did them in his current style - i.e. more rootsy, without the orchestra and endless backing vocals.
I love the old songs, but listening to a few of them in a row is exhausting to me and I prefer Lynne's style of the last 25 years. There's some great songs buried under all the 70's bombast, that I would like to hear performed (by Lynne) in the style he's known for from those Tom Petty / George Harrison / Traveling Wilburys albums and "Zoom".
Or maybe this already exists? Like a stripped down live album?
I listened to the entire concert, every album had at least one song, except Time, Balance of Power and Zoom!
