Admittedly, there were a couple of dodgy experiments...

But who will join with me in saying that Chris Cornell has been one of the most important rock artists of the last 20 years?

Maybe I haven't read enough on the forum yet as I only recently joined, but think about it, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, and indeed his solo stuff. His recent acoustic live solo album is nothing short of a classic.

Most important? I guess it would depend on your definition of "important".

Personally, I can't think of anything he's done that could hold my interest. I saw Soundgarden open for GnR back in '92 and I fell asleep during their show. Temple? Audioslave? Meh. Not my cup of sludge. For those that like it though, you can have my share.

I like a piece of everything he's done honestly! I agree Freak! The live solo malbum is great and shows what a huge eclectic career he's had! :cheers2

Yeah, Temple of the Dog and various guest spots on bands from Alice in Chains to The Screaming Trees make him a rather important part o the Seattle music scene. I rather like his singing style and general sense of taste and would really like to see the guy in a truly great band some day.

I wouldn't say it's the best ever but Chris Cornell is definitely one of my heroes!

God the first reply worried me!

But I'm glad to see that some thought he was worth a mention.

Chris is one hell of a singer and with what he's been doing the last few years I think I can say that I'm the happiest I've ever been with what he's been doing with his career. And I can definitely agree with Magic that he is quite the dish. :flirt:

I think he has wasted some of his talent, though. But Temple Of The Dog is a masterpiece and some Soundgarden is pretty awesome, too.
