Paul Revere & the Raiders
As far as their heavier stuff I would recommend "Louie Go Home", or "Hungry" (which was a big hit)... That should give you a taste... Oh, another song that was a big hit but was pretty heavy for its time was "Just Like Me"... -- Psychedelic Syd

The Kinks!
Love the Kinks... I heard an NPR interview with Ray Davies a few weeks back... Interesting stuff... His autobiography was weird because it involved a sort of time travel thing, but he seemed pretty down to Earth in the NPR interview...
