Why do the songs that Sammy Hagar did with Van Halen have a different style from what he did with Montrose or solo?

^ This really sums it up. Eddie had already been veering a different direction (creatively) before Dave left the band. The addition of Sammy was a change for both Sammy's style as well as Van Halen's style. At the time, I was NOT a fan. I warmed up when OU812 came out and honestly...

The Who Sell Out vs Led Zeppelin II

LZ2 crushes most albums. Easily my favorite LZ album and it obliterates TheWho#3.

Please Please Me vs My Generation

    Beatles, easily.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band vs The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Sgt Pepper, played backwards with a bad needle on warped vinyl at the wrong speed would still be better than Piper. Huge fan of Floyd from the 70's, but i cannot stand their debut. I didn't like it 40+ yrs ago when I first heard it. I've listened to it several times over the years as my...

Born to Run vs Band on the Run

If this was title track vs title track, I'd take Band on the Run. Can't stand that Springsteen track. Since this is album vs album, I'll still take Band on the Run. I don't mind a couple of other tracks on the Springsteen album, but that title track is enough for it lose (for me). ;)

The White Album vs Beggars Banquet

I'm a bigger fan of the Stones than I am of the Beatles. Regarding this matchup, The White Album has a LOT of throwaway tracks. If you took the throwaway tracks off of the White Album and made it a single LP album, it would be worthy of the praise that it often gets. What's good, is...

    My Generation vs Led Zeppelin

Definitely LZ1. Not a fan of anything by The Who from the 60s (while I do like them a lot more from their 70's albums). I can't think of any single song that I'd play from their debut, much less the entire album.

Let It Be vs The Wall

The Wall, by a long shot. Accidentally misclicked and voted for Let It Be. Weird that I can't change my vote (didn't we used to be able to do that or am I misremembering to go with my misclicking?)

    Led Zeppelin vs Van Halen

Van Halen, by a light year. One of the 2 or 3 best debut albums in the history of rock, regardless of genre

    Ozzy Osbourne (Official Thread)

I was today-years-old when I realized that Ozzy and Randy's birthday were only a couple of days apart. If he were still alive, Randy would have turned 67 today. (December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982)

OZZY OSBOURNE Has Recorded 15 Songs For Next Studio Album

Ordinary Man did very little for me. There were a couple of decent tracks, but nothing that made me say "wow! this is the Ozzy that I remember and miss". I have not even looked into Patient #9. I heard one or two tracks before it was released, neither one impressed me much, and I just flat...

    R.I.P. Speed King

Been offline for a few years, I just saw this. Very sad to hear. SK and I had several good conversations over the years regarding music in general, guitar gear, etc. RIP brother! :rip:
