I just discovered this remarkable singer songwriter, Labi Siffre, and don't know why I never heard of him before, since he's amazing and has been sampled by some well known tunes over the years.
Not the slick kinda pop but the dam catchy, hear it once and you're singing along by the end kind of pop.

Buddy Guy is the man and my favorite blues player and singer.
So cool, talented and funny as hell.
He inspired the Stones, Clapton, Hendrix, and many more.
Here's one of my favorite tunes of his - Five Long Years.
Stones are great no doubt but the Beatles volume of remarkable songs plus the evolution of the music/techniques/production over their short less than 10 years of putting out records blows the Stones out of the water.
OK - there are many favorite songs we all have - but then there are isolated moments (could be a riff, solo, intro, etc.) of songs that hit us on a deep, emotional soul level but that AREN'T necessary from our favorite song(s).
