Hello

So recently ive been digging into some older rock records such as Led Zeppelin (Great music they have a lot of classics) Some AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue and a few others. Im looking for some rock bands that are similar to the ones i mentioned, ill go as far back into the 70's, ive tried the beatles and didnt dig it, aswell as pink floyd who was a little too wierd for my liking. Im more into the Harder side of rock like Guns n Roses especially , but i also love the laidback rock like Some of led zeppelins hits like Dy'er Maker and Since ive been loving you.

Heres my last fm, http://www.last.fm/user/Gfunk-

take a look and i would greatly appreciate some reccomendations, keep in mind i dont want metal ive allready got enough of that at the moment.

thnx

I would suggest The Smashing Pumpkins personally! They aren't really metal but they have harder and softer sounds in their music. Also they have a variety of sounds throughout their career as they have dabbled in rock, metal, progressive, electronic and various styles. There most accessible c.d. to try first is Melloncollie and the Infinite Sadness! :grinthumb

Welcome aboard. Great to see another Metallica fan here. As for Hard Rock, have a listen to Deep Purple's Machine Head.

I moved this to the intro section G Funk as most people will read this as an intro thread anyway and you will still get some suggestions as well! :grinthumb

Oh, and welcome to CRF! You came to the right place to learn about classic rock! :grinthumb

If you like LZ, you might like some of Rush's early works. (Especially their selftitled album) Geddy's voice is not for everyone, but like everything you'll never know until you have a listen. I also recommend Wishbone Ash as a guitar heavy rock band.

If you're into a bit of 'arena' rock, I'll shout out the awesome foursome of Styx, Foreigner, Kansas and Boston!

And as for the glam rock of Motley Crue, well there's a truckload of artists like that but my personal favourite is House Of Lords! :D
