If you liked the age of underground radio when it was new, or even if you didn't,
you might like this... it is great fun, great music and a celebration of sorts of
fabulous DJ Tom Donahue while he was helming the cutting age of radio in the
very early 70's at San Fran's KSAN. The playlist is an astounding mix and his
dj commentary is funny, informative and timely.

This looks damn interesting. There's a whole series of them apparently :) I loved the late Friday/Saturday night (underground) radio of the 70's and whilst living in Holland, the pirate radio stations that my mom used to listen to. Good times

Well... I will have to check these out.

Some quick Youtube peeks of this Shawn Philips have peeked my interest.

What would be a good starting point for a new listener?

The best album of his is Second Contribution, followed closely by Transcendence. He did his best stuff in the early 70's and I would highly recommend all of them.

Cool... it is a neat, fun spin; listened to a little more this morning and also
have vol 2 with another dj that is good as well. This stuff will certainly
escort one back to a magic time way back when.

Cold rain and (almost) snow,,, chili in the crockpot, Seattles Best java, and some Dead.
Readying, steadying myself for some 'stay in the house all day' college hoops.

Listening to a '79 Dicks Pick... the set opens up with the apt
'Cold Rain and Snow... lol
