^^I agree with the Deep Purple, but don't know the other albums you picked Billy...?

Is Starship the remnants of "Jefferson Starship" or a new band?

^^OK thanks, I like his voice and the cover looks great. Another band who only has one member left although it's usually better when it's the vocalist who's still there.

You think I should get this one?

Been ages since I listened to Starship, but I've liked Thomas' vocals since I first heard "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" when he was with Elvin Bishop.

I'll think about it Billy.

2013 hasn't been a good year for new albums in my opinion, not at all, so for me at least this isn't too difficult...I probably only bought maybe 7 or 8 'new' records the whole year (excluding oldies/re-issues...things like the great Rush 'Vapor Trails' re-issue)

So my Top 5 are...

#1 - Pearl Jam - Lightning Bolt

#2 - Alice in Chains - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here

#3 - Sheryl Crow - Feels Like Home

#4 - David Bowie - The Next Day

#5 - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Away

Don't have any of those albums TS, so I can't say much. Deep Purple and Rush would be two of my top 5 this year but I haven't been paying attention to new music that much, been collecting old vinyl again instead.

That's probably very wise LG, like you most of the albums I buy these days are rock 'oldies'....and classical and jazz actually, which I love. There's still some good new rock being released, but just not very much of it in 2013, to my ears anyway, maybe other people think it was a good year? I'm just happy I still live in a world where there's more than freaking Blink 182 and Daft Punk.
