Female Fronted Metal Bands

Melodic metal Magic??? I could name alot of medolic black/death metal you never heard before.. but fronted by a woman?? No can do.

Sorry =) I'll check my general metal collection for female singers... but out of the top of my head I couldn't name any others then the ones already in here.. (maybe Epica and within temptation, but I'm pretty sure you already know them..)

Damn you oblivion! You beat me too it ;( I thought no one was going to say Epica

So there a few I know off the top of my head, but I seem to remember my Last.FM playing a crapload of them in a row, and it made me angry.

Epica, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Leaves' Eyes, Visions of Atlantis (although that's a guy and a girl), Xandria, After Forever, and Delain

That's all I got >.< hopefully you like, I like the first ones the most, and less all the way to the end, but they're all good.

I already know about Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Evanescence. I want some melodic female fronted metal....if possible.

Great Stuff KMET. This is why I asked, because I get a mental block on the "obvious" and wanted to discover some new music, too.

so far we have:

Lacuna Coil
Nightwish
Paramore
Lee Aaron
Epica
Doro Pesch
Lita Ford
Within Temptation
Vixen
(there have been more mentioned but they were , Blah!)

These have all been fantastic, keep 'em coming!!!!

Well, Magic... I don't think I know of any other current bands with a woman singing lead, and for more of that from the olden days I'll have to consult the Bible of 80's metal:



Until then, here's a band that had a girl singer for a while...
