have you ever even heard 'electric ladyland'?
Martin Q. Blank said:Yeah, I have to agree with this. "Electric Ladyland" was the only Jimi studio album I owned for a long time, so maybe I'm biased. But when I finally picked up "Are You Experienced?" last year, as great as it was, it just sounded like a collection of singles to me, whereas "Electric Ladyland" is a full blown sonic odyssey.
Spike said:Allow me to disagree and agree. First, "Are You Experienced" is a lot more than a "collection of singles." I know how you feel about "back in the day" comments by old geezers, but there is no way to decribe the impact that album had upon its release because it was so radically different than anything that had come before it. It was a revelation. Second, I agree that "Electric Ladyland" is a "full blown sonic odyssey" and ultimately the better album.
