STARSHIP UNVEIL NEW SONG AND NEW COMPILATION DUE:
A new Starship song Loveless Fascination can be heard now via a YouTube preview at: Starship - Loveless Fascination - YouTube.
The song has no official release date as yet, but is likely to appear on the group's next studio album, due now in early 2013. There is one release that will precede that however. Starship is part of a new series of Playlist compilations due for release October 9.
As well as 12 of the band's best known tracks is 2 unreleased tracks. One titled Karma (another new 2012 track) and another is a previously unreleased version of the band doing Keys To The City (as recorded by The View/The VH previously).
The liner notes are being written by yours truly. More information soon.

^^I tend to agree with your friend Tek.;)

I only have Freedom at Point Zero by Starship...unless Red Octopus is also their's and not Airplane...have to look to make sure.

Anyway who is still in the band? Marty Balin, Mickey Thomas...???

Thanks Billy...and Mickey isn't even one of the original members, not of Airplane anyway. But I like his vocals, ever since I heard "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" when he was with Elvin Bishop.

Predictable and somewhat boring.

actually Freedom At Point Zero was Jefferson Starship, big difference from Starship.

Basically there were 3 bands, all different: The Airplane was like 1967 to about 1973. Then they changed to Jefferson Starship and dropped all of their hippy psychedelia leanings. Craig Chaquito joined and brought his great guitar with him and they evolved into a hard rock act, morphing into a commercial rock band in the early 80's. By 1985 or 1986 they became Starship and just plain sucked after that.
