I like a good Motorhead song from time to time as much as anyone, but here they are covering The Kingsmen's "Louie Louie" which seems apropos for them because you really don't expect to understand what Lemmy is singing anyway. :D

Short History of Louie Louie
Louie Louie on Wikipedia

The Kingsmen version is probably the most famous version. Here is a video of three versions :

1) Richard Berry the original version
2) Rockin' Robin Roberts and the Fabulous Wailers
3) Little Bill and the Blue Notes

The lyrics to this song are very boring, but the melody is so catchy, which makes it a fun song.

Did you know that in the 60's this song was investigated by the FBI for 2 years to determine if it was obscene. The conclusion was that it was "unintelligible"

Well, what do ya know... all these years I thought the song was originally recorded by The Kingsmen. Thanks for the subtle clarification, Magic. :)

I checked that song out on iTunes and it's surprising how many artists have recorded that song. The Beach Boys, Black Flag, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, Otis Redding, The Pretenders, The Ventures, Jan & Dean and Jim Capaldi being the more prominent ones.

I HATE this version ~

Paul Revere & Raiders
I couldn't agree more.

Your tax dollars hard at work. Nice to know that Uncle Hoover had taken it upon himself to protect America's sensibilities.

Wow! Iggy intersperses Dostoyevsky into the lyrics of "Louie, Louie"!

Iggy is a God!!! I'm the ultimate Johnny Thunders freak & I was front Row for him & I was front row for the Ramones. They were both incredible but seeing Iggy front Row was undescribable.I never seen anything like it!! Iggy's "Louie Louie" is great. The version off of the Stooges Live 'Metallic KO' album has to be heard by everyone if not for the x rated lyrics then for the sound of eggs & beer Bottles being thrown at the stage at the ending.
I have this version on a cd single along with "Beside You" & an unbelivable filthy x-rated version of "Les Amants" which is so disgusting & vulgar it even
makes my wife laugh!!!

Here's Johnny Thunders Performing it although he kind of mixes in Hang on Sloopy(a little Too much,I think he was kind of fried out by then).
This was filmed shortly before he was found dead either by murder or OD whatever you believe(I tend to go with murder)
