it's kind of sad that he's probably going to be remembered for his plastic surgery and child molestations more than his talent =/

oh well he brought it on himself

I certainly won't remember him for his whacked out behavior. I think the media and the prescription drugs did a lot of damage to his career and the way he is perceived. True he was whacked out after the Pepsi commercial fire. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that prescription drugs are involved in his death and the way he changed over the years.

Even with all the media blitz on him, I will remember him as a great singer and dancer. I still love to watch the J5 videos and the Thriller album was in my collection which says a lot for him because at that time when it was released I was getting real sick of the direction pop/rock music was going.

Look at Elvis how he changed after the drugs. But it doesn't change the fact that he was also a music icon and remembered for his contributions to music.

true, but elvis wasn't luring kids into his back yard to screw them, certain people will remember him for the music and dancing, but look how many movies has made fun of him, or how many radio shows have, and what the media said about him later in his life, some times people are remembered for the contreversy they bring, it can be a good thing, but not in his case I don't think

I cannot deny I have never been a fan of the JACKO everyone knows (even though I was born in '58 like he was). I'd like to remember him as the little boy with beautiful dark skin and fuzzy hair singing with the Jackson 5 a long, long time ago....THAT was the REAL MJ....whatever happened to that little boy??....I guess he grew up like all of us, but paid a TRAGIC tribute to life:(

RIP.

MJ is the next in line to die. After Elvis, Lennon and Freddie Mercury this is one to remmember. You can love them, you can hate them but you can't deny them they made a difference in, and are history of music.

Strange you didn't mention Kurt Cobain in your comparative list here.....I would like to read your thoughts on this :):)

I was blown away when I heard that MJ died and I will remember him for his great music and as far as Kurt Cobain goes IMHO he was nothing special and certainly not an icon in any way shape or form.
