So, I was sitting in my room yesterday listening to a vinyl blues compilation record I picked up from the record store a few weeks ago for the first time, and I had heard Muddy Waters before, but never got too much into him. But this time his music really hit me...so I picked up a live CD I had lying around for a couple of years and gave it a listen, and loved the hell out of it. So now, I'm officially a fan. :D

Although I couldn't find the tracks on YouTube; I love 'Mannish Boy', 'Evans Shuffle (Ebony Boogie)', and a blues jam he did on the live album I have on CD, called 'Last Nite'...hell...I love it all. :pullhair:

Tell me what you think about this Chicago bluesman.

Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf are the first two blues singers I ever got into and are a big fan of both. I love "Fathers And Sons" and "The Muddy Waters London Sessions" which both featured all star lineups. "I'm Ready" was another good one which Johnny Winter produced and played guitar on. I really liked "Electric Mud" as well though the critics panned it.

Hard Again is a later album I would highly recommend, again the Johnny Winter input helps this album along but Muddy excells IMO. Infact I think the album title was chosen because Muddy said the music "Made his *** *** hard again." nice one.

I could have easily placed this post in the Johnny Winter thread, his influence is all over this album! In my opinion this one of the best Blues albums I have ever heard, these two were made to play together!

Muddy Waters / Hard Again

Hard Again is a 1977 Chicago style Blues album by Muddy Waters. It was recorded by its producer, Johnny Winter, in a rough, bare bones style. After several lackluster records, this was Waters's comeback album.

Released on January 10, 1977, Hard Again was Muddy's first album released by the Blue Sky record label after he left Chess.
