I didn't know people criticized him for his beliefs though. I could see why it may have turned people off to some of his songs, but I never heard anyone criticize him for it.

Yeah, mainly bigoted people, but I have seen him recieve criticism for it.

Which is sad, because if it weren't for that, George would have pretty much avoided criticism for his whole career - a rare feat in the media driven world.

It is sad for a musician or artist to be caught in the spotlight for something bad or wrong, but in the end, all it really boils down to is the music. Personal issues of an artist, and the music of an artist should be two different things. People seem to just focus on the personal stuff, which is sad.

Exactly! Critics are so nit picky when it comes to music. It's really a shame. Because there is a shit ton of great music out there that some people just say "oh they suck" and I ask them why, and they respond "because this review said so", at that point im already listening to the band that they said sucked.

Not anywhere near as well as George. I tend to be more of a rhythm guitarist myself.

I can play something that might resemble the lead part though
