There are a few songs that just appeal to me that don't fall into the catagory of rock, blues or metal that I ordinarily listen to.

Cars by Gary Neuman. I liked this song since the first time I heard it as a kid. Something about that synth riff. It translates well to guitar too.

Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey. Great vocals and cool guitar parts.

Overkill by Men at Work. Love the vocal phrasing.

Intergalactic by The Beastie Boys. I can't explain. I just find myself listening to it when its on.

Others will come to mind.

Ditto!!! Love this song.

I have a lot of guilty pleasures. Besides Easy Lover, I also like music by Shakira. Yes, Shakira. Hey, what can I tell ya? At least she writes her own songs, unlike the other cookie cutter Madonna wannabes. :D

Totally agree on all three of these. :grinthumb

I played "Cars" in a cover band in high school and it's full of cool riffs...love it!

A few more:

Space Age Love Song by A Flock Of Seagulls

I'm also a sucker for Englebert Humperdink and John Denver. (Blame my mom scarring my memory at an early age). But the former has a great voice and the latter is quite a deft fingerpicker :D .

Martha,

Slipping Into Darkness is a tune by a group called War.

My current guilty pleasure is Tell Me Something Good by Rufus w/Chaka Khan (sp?).
