Re: Deep Purple

It is indeed. Kicking opening track take 1, Demon's Eye and The Noise Abatement Society Tapes are my favourite tracks from 1996 reissue.

Re: Deep Purple

It really does get underated even from the band themselves lol
They didnt seem to rate their own Fireball album that highly during a Machine Head doco.
I think its a gem.

Re: Deep Purple

^^ It is Riff Raff I couldn't agree more .. I wouldn't be without that album, and the drum work in the title track is one of my faves from Mr. Paice.

Same with the Burn album, that reminds me a lot of Fireball.
In Rock and before that are just some brilliant records.

Re: Deep Purple

I'm pretty sure I have all of their albums now, except maybe their very last two studio releases...I'll have to check.

Riff have you played "Concerto for Group & Orchestra" yet?

Let me know if you do and what you think of that one.:grinthumb

This live album is really worth of listening. Contains Deep Purple songs performed on the same stage as they played with orchestra. Blackmore guitar and Paice drum solo are incredible.

I rate Fireball just behind In Rock and ahead of Machine Head. All three classics ! I also think that Who Do We Think We Are is FAR better then it is generally credited .

Re: Deep Purple

I think even the original albums like The Shades of Deep Purple and The Book of Taliesyn dont get the credit they should.
