Man Travellin', I would love to go back in time for that concert, for Kiss of Course, but also to see the Rockets. I became a fan of them & have a few of their albums. I thought they may break it when they released their 2nd album (S/T) because "Oh Well" went over pretty good over FM Radio in my area. When they opened for Kiss I liked them but had no idea who they were

I'm with you there, Bucky! Being near Detroit, I was eventually exposed to quite a bit of Rockets music, but I'd never even heard of them until I saw them warm up for KISS. I wish I'd known of them at the time because I'd have probably had a greater appreciation for the music that night (not to suggest that I didn't enjoy their set). I like their version of ""Oh Well" more so than Fleetwood Mac's.

I remember when I was a kid thinking I was the only one that owned a ROCKETS album and now, many many years later, find out that was further from the truth.

That's great, bucky! It's nice to know that you both went to and also very much enjoyed your first concert some years ago, and especially with those two fantastic bands, too! The Rockets were a terrific band in concert, imo! They did one of the best versions of Oh Well that I've had the great pleasure to experience live. For many years that version has both stuck with me, and is a very pleasant reminder of seeing and hearing that band, as well as some other good memories, and a couple not so good, too.

Jim McCarty is a phenomenal guitarist, imo! Although I had heard music from another band he was with, he was extremely impressive live.

I thought I may've been one of the few people that remembered and/or celebrated previous concert anniversaries, but I'm glad that I'm not alone! This October will be the 35th anniversary of my first concert experience, man, those were great times, days, bands and especially concert experiences, imo!

Nice ! I was a bit to young to see them back then. They did come our way but the Portland fire Marshall said " No Way ! " Lame. I wish i had of went. If you look at alot of bios of early 80's 90's era rockstars, alot of them cite a Kiss concert for the reason they became musicians. Including GARTH BROOKS ?!?

Saw them on Revenge and Reunion tours. Great but not 1977.

It is really really cool that you got to witness that.

Holy Demon Bucky, I just did the math for my first KISS concert,,,It IS mine too lol ?

Cool..my older brother snuck me in because my dad said NO WAY is his 12 year old daughter going to see a rock concert with drunk teenage boys !' lol

Well I think he was right NOW ..not then of course..I saw KISS in Springfield Mass ! They changed my musical path{at that Time I was listening to Disco } and starting on The Beatles lol...

Buck unfortunately I don't have the memory that you do. I know I had the Smoking Ace poster but I honestly couldn't tell you where I got it. It's quite possible though. I remember wanting to buy everything!!
