I was going through and doing some cleanup and many times I try and replace youtube videos that have been removed by the user, or an account was deleted...whatever.

If you would always like your video shown, I do go through and try and cleanup and replace them from time to time when I catch a no video.

So when you post a youtube video anywhere in the entire forum (and if you're thinking about it) put some text above the video describing what it is, so I would know what it was...and maybe I can help restore it for you so new members may see what you posted.

THANKS. :grinthumb

Good point! It's unfortunate because even though you think a thread served it's time nd no one will see it again, new users will come and find these old band threads. It's be unfortunate that they come to one with dead links and don't get a proper intro to the artist. I've come in to threads to update the links as well and if there's no text to refer to the song I can't replace the vid either! :)

Yeah I removed a couple tonight from like old members no longer with us...but would have replaced those as well.

Sometimes I think it's better to modify and remove the blank vids...it's really an eyesore. Of course we can't swap all the videos in one day...but a little at a time and this place will always look rockin' and the entire community could be happy that most all of their videos don't go bye bye.

So yes...Video Descriptions are a plus!! :cheers2

I might edit my Static X thread, put the song titles above them :)

It's a shame Youtube keeps screwing around with their videos...it does nothing but help promote artists by keeping their music links in place, but removing them or shuffling them constantly is irritating.(Unless the original uploader deletes them, that I can understand.)

Same thing happened to some Iron Maiden covers I had in my thread, I had them hosted on Photobucket and then they were removed...:dunno:

So I re-upped them to Imageshack and made them private and so far they are still visible. I just found it strange that anyone would complain about a bands album covers.
