I'll add the Smashing Pumpkins to my list...Billy Corgan's voice has always sounded very thin, reedy and raspy to me...like he's straining to get the notes out. And his vocal range seems to be only about 2/3 of an octave.

Oh yeah, Supertramp...I hate that guy's voice too.

Have to agree with you on Billy Corgan. Don't hate his voice but I can only handle a few Smashing Pumpkins songs in a day before his voice starts to grate on me. Supertramp in their heyday had 2 singers. Which one are you meaning?

The number of great singers getting mentioned in this thread just keep adding up.

Also, Dio and Frank Zappa (with the Mothers or solo) wouldn't be better with a different singer because they wouldn't exist period without Ronnie or Frank.

I'd like to believe Arnel is perhaps in one of those "students surpassing the master" sort of situations.

When Arnel can write songs and sing them, then he will surpass the master. Until then he sings songs that were prepared by the masters before him.

No kidding. Might as well say Elvis Presley and Pat Benatar would have been better with another singer or that the Bill Cosby Show would have been better with another actor.

I hate Pink Floyd, so don't take it like I think they're a great band--because I don't. But, Pink Floyd needs a singer that sings with personality. That dude they have now is so mediocre and bland. He's the biggest reason I hate Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd hasn't been a band in the last 15 years or so.

And the original Pink Floyd hasn't played together in 30 years.

Excluding Live 8 in 2005, of course.

It's not a big deal that you don't like Pink Floyd or a tons of other great rock bands, but get your facts right.
