I like captain beyond especialy suffently breathless.Rod Evans why did you have to do that 1980 deep purple tour in japan?
Probably a $$$$$ payday??.

Didn't they actually play a few gigs before the 'Japanese kids' rioted at the few concerts after they realised what was happening then Deep Purple management along with the ex MkII & MkIII members slapped a in junction on the remaining concerts.

Brand X?. I bought a 4 cd box-set of Brand X first 4 or 5 studio albums from the mid 1970s and into the 1980s a couple of years ago and was a bit disappointed overall because they were mainly a jazz/rock outfit cos I was hoping they would be a bit more rock orientated.

I think Phil (Collins) played on one of two albums and Chuck Burgi (a US session drummer) played on one album but I don't really know much else about them?.

The lands of Marshall Stack.
Unbelievable!.. bit of Zep/Rainbow... and the cusp of New Wave peeping through.
Dirty Tricks were a band that rocked.. but never had success.
Thanks for the memory jog.

Here is a long forgotten name from the early 1970s at least in the UK that I heard of a few days ago but vaguely remember hearing of way back in the early 1970s and described as an American hippy folk rock band named The Joy of Cooking. The band was lead by unusually at the time a female guitarist called Terry Garthwaite who I believe is still alive although female slide guitarist Bonnie Raitt had just released her debut album around the same time and of course the all female rock band Fanny was as well.
