Magic - Magic (1971)
USA Rock, Funk Rock, Psychedelic Rock
Rare Earth Records

It had to happen sooner or later, I would find a rare gem with my name on it!

This album’s funky vibe is really cool. There is a mix of music styles from soft, southern influence to trippy psychedelic. Outstanding album, IMO.

Bio from AllMusic

No, Know (The opening riff, what song does it sound like? Dang it…I should know this)

Keep On Moving On is reminiscent of the Guess Who, but other tracks sound totally different.

This track claims to have some guy named Stevie Wonder playing piano. Even with that the band seems to have disappeared quickly.

Magic - Absolutely Free, Absolutely Beautiful

Alexis sounds like The Band, or similar groups. Maybe their style was too random?

It reminds me of part of 2 short riffs....Satisfaction riff by Stones and
I'd Love to Change the World by Ten Years After.
Its not the same as either but contains some of the note patterns.
So... not as blatant as Celtic Frost-Cherry Blossom ripping off the riff from Metallica-Seek & Destroy, if there was even a rip off at all.

Definitely a rip off! Psst! Cherry Orchard, but I knew what you meant. ;)
Warrior & Hetfield / Hammett don’t get along too well, ya know.

Ahh, nuts! I don't know why I mess that title up every time :banghead:.

The other riff I know from somewhere else is the opening part of Crypt Sermon-Key Of Solomon. So familiar, yet so far away.

If there isn't a "where have I heard that riff?" thread, there oughta be.
