(Just a bit of fun)
A thread for remembering your first ever car..... and the song you played for forever in it.
I became road legal quite late- so starting off, my first proper car was a Ford Escort mk3 in orange (the previous owner had apparently spilled curry sauce from a takeaway down the heater vent) and always smelt like a Balti House!
The electrics were always wrong... but I buffed over the rust!

... And turned up the cassette player to muffle the rattles. This song did just that.
Rod Stewart - Baby Jane.

First car was a 56 Chevy Bel Air without the post. 283 with headers and a high rise with a holley 750. Had a 8 track and one tape.. Steppenwolf so jammed out to that

all the time.

My first car was a Pontiac Acadian that looks like this. Paid $800.

I don't remember the music I played in it cos I don't think it had a stereo.

Thank you!
I thought that was a Japanese car, you are right about tape players etc... British cars were mean also and a radio was an optional extra, some guys drove with a transistor radio on the passenger seat.

This is very close to what my first car looked like. A 1975 Pintostang.
I bought it around 1985. It had a 302 V8, automatic transmission and I loved it. Wrecked it a little. Fixed it. Wrecked it again. Fixed it. Wrecked it once more and fixed it and decided I better stop wrecking it.

I traded it in on a 1986 Mustang LX hatchback that looked a little like this one in 1988.

I had a '65 Mustang, which now is pretty cool, but then was a 10 year old car that I bought for $250 and sold 2 years later for $200 in trade.

All it had was an AM radio, so I didn't have any jam tunes that weren't played on it--but I do remember listening to "I Shot The Sheriff" to finish it as I pulled in the driveway shortly after I got it. So I'll go with Clapton's cover version:

I used to drive a white Honda civic in high school--was the first decent car I had..I remember playing tons of Stone Temple Pilots songs in that car..I don't know if I have a picture of that car, that was back in the early 90's...

Dont recall songs in the car but the Ford comet had an 8 track player and we did play a lot of classic rock like The Doors, Stones, Beatles etc.
