Hendrix! I know maybe one song by Cream.
No vote....two bands I like equally.....all of Hendrix 3 original studio lps are 5 stars imho and most critics.....and Band of Gypsies and Cry Of Love are also brilliant.
Cream had 4 studios, the first 3 are 5 stars and Goodbye being 4 stars by most ratings.
Their 2 live ones are also excellent.
Clapton was once asked who he thought was the greatest guitarist in those days and he allegedly said....''everyone knows it's Jimi Hendrix."

I mean, “Machine Gun” from Band of Gypsys alone is better than anything Cream recorded. Again, the solo career of Eric Clapton compared to the career of Jimi Hendrix might be a closer decision for me. But the electric blues of Cream compared to the electric blues of Jimi Hendrix? Hendrix!
