OK, we are going to get back in the swing of things again, and hopefully barrel through to the present day to complete our Hall of Fame. We are up to the 2005 inductions, which include artists that debuted in 1979. Because of some decreased turnout and votes getting spread a little thin, I am tweaking the nomination stage a little bit here. Starting this week, you should vote for 20 total artists, but only 6 of those can be off the newly eligible list. The list below is not all-inclusive, so if you see someone not on the list you may vote for them as long as they are not already in the Hall of Fame and debuted in 1979 or before. In the posts right below this one, I have included some artists that you may want to consider, or stop considering. The first post is artists that have received one vote and one vote only on a consistent basis (likely meaning that the same person keeps voting for them, but is getting no other support). The second post are artists that consistently get some support, but not quite enough (likely meaning that if you like that artist but have not supported them in the past, now would be a good time). Also those that vote later in the week may want to just peruse other people’s vote to see what artists might need just one more vote to get themselves a nomination. Again, vote for 20, a max of 6 from the newly eligible, and voting will run through early Sunday September 2.

As promised, here is a list of artists that have consistently gotten one vote, but never more than one vote. Make of it what you will, but what it tells me is that one voter is voting for that artist and gaining no support from anyone else. If you are the one supporting that artist, it may be time to give up and move to someone else to support. Or you can try to beg and plead with other voters and try to garner support for that artist. The list:

Neil Sedaka
Nina Simone
The Staple Singers
Glen Campbell
John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers
Buddy Guy
Taste
Rare Earth
Blue Cheer
Blood, Sweat, & Tears
Humble Pie
Plastic Ono Band
Fanny
War
Mahavishnu Orchestra
April Wine
Gerry Rafferty
Geordie
Greenslade
Camel
The Pointer Sisters
Tom Waits
Television

And this list has some artists that consistently get support from multiple voters, but not quite enough to get over the hump. New votes for these artists are likely to be productive votes. The list:

The Drifters
Link Wray
The Spinners
Dusty Springfield
Golden Earring
Frank Zappa
MC5
Status Quo
The Stooges
Wishbone Ash
Mike Oldfield
Ted Nugent

Many of these have been nominated before and fell short in the induction phase. Again here, it might help for a passionate fan to write a little something about why they are deserving
