By this point our Hall of Fame has taken huge strides away from the Cleveland path, which is something to be proud of. I hope most everyone feels this Hall represents your tastes well. By the way, Dusty and Wishbone Ash finally made it after 6 and 7 nominations respectively. The next most-nominated artists to not be inducted yet would be Frank Zappa and MC5. Personally, I would love to see MC5 make the roster.

We move on to the 2006 vote. The changes made last week worked well to get us a nice slate of nominees, so we will continue with the same rules. Please vote for 20 of the below candidates, but only a maximum of 6 of those can come from the newly eligible list. The list of newly eligible is fairly weak anyway, in my opinion, so I doubt it’s much of an issue. As always the list below is long, but not all-inclusive. If you can’t find somebody you want to vote for on the list you may vote for them. Just make sure they debuted in 1980 or before and they aren’t already inducted into our Hall of Fame. Voting will run through next Sunday September 16 around noon. Again vote for 20 total, max of 6 from the newly eligible.

This is tough to do. I'm finding myself contradicting my own criteria as I try and whittle it down.

Even though he's awesome, I scratch off Bill Withers, because he's not really rock, but I'm hesitant to scratch off Michael Jackson, even though he's not really rock, either.

This is vexing.
