This band is right up my alley. I love female fronted symphonic metal.

The 2012 album has their newest singer....but I believe I like the original singer better, although they both have impressive voices.

You know, I started listening to Xandria after I heard Neverworld's End. I was never overly into them before, but this album is great. Yes, it is reminiscent of the style of Nightwish from their days with Tarja (which I liked) :grinthumb

I am a HUGE fan of Nightwish with Tarja.

I love the love ballads from Xandria:

Lisa has a sweet voice, but Manuela has a more Tarja-like operatic voice.

I love them both, but Neverworld's End is the best Xandria album by far.

And the last track (bonus) finishes the album off as well as it was started.

The Sailor and the Sea

I really like the sound of these guys. On first listen I couldn't say which vocalist I prefer, that would come as I become more familiar with them both, but I do know after hearing the songs posted here (and the one Ar-Pharazon posted from Neverworld's End on the Female Fronted Metal Bands thread) I rate them both very highly :grinthumb

Another band for me to explore, cheers Ar-Pharazon :cheers2

Well, since the last time we posted here, the band went through Manuela and Dianne Van Giersbergen as vocalists. Apparently they treat their singers like a piece of band equipment, and maybe the operatic singers weren't able to withstand the grueling touring of a metal band.

However you look at it, the band is back after a few years of inactivity. Better put, Marco Heubaum is back with an all new lineup.

This new singer, Ambre Vourvahis sounds a bit closer to Lisa in style than the two opera quality singers. Plus she is capable of some Melissa Bonny level growls.
