That's been a debate for donkey's years: Mozart Vs Beethoven.
Absolutely fruitless of course, they both have BIG merits.
Mozart has over 600 credited pieces, I mean, imagine writing 600 complete rock songs? Mind-boggling stuff.
The Horn Quintet's one of my favourites.

^^I prefer Beethoven by quite a margin over Amadeus myself, that was the only reason I mentioned it, both are giants and worth checking out.(Don't have any of Mozart's operas or other vocal pieces though, and they are some of his most highly regarded compositions.)

I think Ludwig's symphonies are more accessible, (and of course there are only nine :) ), whereas Wolfgang's chamber music is my prefered choice of easy listening.

^^I have almost 100 Beethoven CD's Steve, so you can see I am a big fan of his.:mn:

I enjoy Wolfgang's piano concertos too, along with his quartets.

Nearly all my Ludwig van stuff is on vinyl or cassette (They have taken some hammer too over the years). Will have to continue this on the Beethoven thread...don't want to fall foul of any Forum rules. :)

Here's Wolfie's Horn Concerto No4 3rdMvt. :)

Love Strauss myself, what is your favorite part of Mozart's enormous catalog Cinder?

For me it's his later symphonies and piano music.:mn:

Here is my favorite piece of music written by Mozart:

I'm not sure that it is his most well known but it is certainly one of the most accessible that I can think of.

If they would have had electric musical instruments and amplification in Mozart's time he would have been in a band like DEEP PURPLE without a doubt dude's :grinthumb

That would have been one cool band dude's:oyea:
