White Zombie

Origin
New York, New York, United States

Genres
Noise rock (early)
Heavy metal
Groove metal
Industrial metal

Years active 1985–1998

White Zombie was heavy metal band named after the 1932 film of the same name, which starred Béla Lugosi. They formed in New York City in 1985.

They originally a noise rock band and a good one IMO, but they are better-known for their later heavy metal-oriented sound which is considered groove metal. Their lyrics were heavily influenced by horror films.
One of my favorite bands of all time and a great band IMO. Not a fan of Rob's solo work, but White Zombie I am nuts about.

I like some stuff by these guys but maybe it's because I never bought and inidual albums (I only have a hits collection with the groups stuff and Rob's solo work in the same c.d.) but they don't sound that different to me. My favorite White Zombie song is a cover of a funk song.

White Zombie-I'm Your Boogie Man

I think Rob's solo stuff is to dancey if that makes sense.

Sounds more like club music then White Zombie did.

I know he plays White Zombie material on tour, but I am really hoping they reunite. It would be great.

Ha Ha! Ironically I picked the danciest song White Zombie has! :heheh: I get what you mean though! I mean Never Gonna Stop wasa wrestlers theme for a while so it's definately more palatable to the masses in some ways but I like both the group and solo anyway! :grinthumb

White Zombie kicked some serious ass man haha. I love their groove metal stuff. Thunder Kiss 65 is probably my favorite song by them.
My cousin saw them live with Pantera. I would kill to have been able to have seen that show.

I used to love White Zombie back when it first came out especially La Sexorcisto: Devil Music vol. 1
Great stuff, it's too bad he went all industrial dance metal on us.

Still makes some decent horror movies though.
