It has been a long time since I listened to Stairway. I don't listen to much radio anymore, so the only way I would hear the song is to play it myself.

Personally, I hear more ''Over The Hills And Far Away'' a lot more than ''Stairway'', from past experience....

or the radio friendly, ''Fool In The Rain''

I think because of its lenght, out here it really isn't aired as much as people think. The shorter tracks like "Fool In The Rain", "Rock And Roll", "Black Dog" etc. get more time. It could be that it has somewhat grown into an urban myth given that EVERYBODY along with their grandma gets word of it and actually believe it is happening.

Stairway, if you give it a little rest and then come back and listen to it, is still a beautifully-constructed and written song and well worth the praise it receives.

I don't think it's because of it's length, because they still play ''Free Bird'' ''Welcome To The Machine'' and ''Layla'' and there about the same length.

I mean "Stairway To Heaven" is only about 8 minutes long -- it's not that long.
