As far as I know, the only album that they used studio guitarists on was Black and Blue. They were trying out guitarists to replace Taylor during those sessions. I agree that Keith's solos sometimes aren't so hot - but IMO he's the best rhythm guitarist there is.

Right on, sometimes Keith played abolutely insane good stuff: Prodigal Son, Stray Cat Blues, Sympathy For The Devil, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Monkey Man, Gimmie Shelter, etc. No one could top it!

"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is one of my favorites as well. Another winner from that album (that doesn't get the attention it deserves) is "Moonlight Mile".

It seems a bit petty to respond to a post made four years ago but Keith didn't play on Moonlight Mile. Still a terrific song, mind you.
