Hilarious.
Two or more decades ago, my 8-tracks were breaking at the zinc lines when I tried to play them. I threw them all away. I hope most of yours do no suffer the same fate.
My player was a Realistic model but even now I cannot recall if I threw it away or donated it.

I had a box full of 8 tracks that I gave to my son in law.
He has an old square body pick up truck that he restored and he bought an old camper shell made of aluminum that he restored. He takes them to car & truck shows. He found an 8 track sound system and installed it in the truck & camper shell. He plays my old 8 tracks and displays the rest in an 8 track case he found.
Very cool to see my old memories still get some use.
