Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Aerosmith music past their first four studio albums. My favouite is Rocks, because it definitely delivers on
the title. With cuts like Nobody's Fault, Back In The Saddle, Rats In The Cellar, and Sick As A Dog burned into the vinyl, Rocks quickly became
(IMO) one of the most memorable rock albums of the 1970's, and of all time. Though there are several great tracks on all of the band's first
three albums as well, and, admittedly, at least a few from their later ones as well.

So that's my favourite Aerosmith album. What's yours!

Mid '70's was a great time for classic rock. The first album was my favorite until I was about 30 based on the strength of "Mama Kin". After that I shifted toward "Toys In The Attic" because of track for track excellence. Nine of the nine tracks are top shelf with my fave being the swashbuckling "No More, No More". The piano gives it a Mott The Hoople rowdiness that I love. I also love the Steven Tyler stories of being on the road as an opener for Mott The Hoople.

Toys In The Attic is my second favourite Aerosmith album. With my top tracks being Big Ten Inch Record, Toys In The Attic, No More, No More, and Round And Round. I've never liked Walk This Way, but I'm probably in a small club here. I never tire of hearing Sweet Emotion either or Adam's Apple.

This one is not even close. I just love the overall heaviness of this. I know Think About It is a cover but it just kicks so much ass. Don't even know who did the solo, but it's such a great midsection.

According to Wikipedia:

. . . Substance abuse among the members gradually worsened, and they started fighting among themselves. This often led to missed and erratic live performances, culminating in a fight involving the members and their wives. The situation finally came to a head on July 28, 1979, at the World Series of Rock in Cleveland, Ohio, when Perry left the band halfway through the tour after a heated argument with Tyler.[6] Shortly after Perry's departure, development for the album resumed, and Night in the Ruts released on November 16, 1979.

Prior to Perry's departure, he had completed guitar parts for "No Surprize", "Chiquita", "Cheese Cake", “Reefer Headed Woman”, "Three Mile Smile", and "Bone to Bone (Coney Island White Fish Boy)".

Guitar parts for the remaining songs were recorded by Brad Whitford, Richie Supa, Neil Thompson, and Jimmy Crespo. (The last became Perry's official replacement from 1979 to 1984.) Perry's last session with the band was on May 30, 1979.

He stated: We started Night in the Ruts with Jack in the spring of 1979. I'm not sure why he wasn't involved later, but he wasn't ... The Aerosmith album was in limbo from April on and at a certain point I had to wash my hands of it. I said, "It's your album. Do what you want with it. You've got my work. You can use it or erase it. I'm working on something else ... There was all this fighting and bad energy going on ... I was dissatisfied with Krebs, said, 'Fuck this,' and went back to Boston.

I will have to give this album a thorough listen because I never have. Like many Aerosmith fans I moved on after Draw The Line and didn't look back or listen until their string of 80's hits began playing on MTV.

Toys for me, same as you I never tire of Sweet Emotion but have had enough of Walk this Way...to the point sometimes I would rather hear the Run DMC version come on the radio. Specific songs (Let the Music Do the talking etc..) appeal to me, but was never a big enough fan to like a whole album. But if had to choose, Toys In the Attic it is.
