When we get past the flags, the uniforms, and even language, the rhetoric and propaganda all we see is a sad broken tired cold & hungry human being because of leaders who use humans as pawns for their own personal power, glory, and riches. How many times do we as a human race have to repeat the human tragedys of history before we learn that war causes more loss than gain. It's easy to sympathize with our own soldiers and we should but true love and compassion is not bias and conditional and needs understanding. Until we learn this seemingly simple lesson people will continue to suffer because of wars. To quote Rush from the song Territories.....better the pride that resides in the citizen of the world than the "pride" that divides when a colorful rag is unfurled."
