Interesting album. Dr K's Blues Band? Haven't heard of them before but the music is great.
From what I read about them they only bought out this one album in 1968, and it didn't sell well, so if you have the original vinyl in your collection, you're pretty lucky. Not particularly valuable though
Played that last night recgord... gotta be his best- I'm not handling the present very well lately... hence my lack of posting... So bin' ploughing thru' my rock album '69 to' 89.
Yep! Wanna hear how I came to own it?
Just had a toenail removed from University Hospital in Nottm, hobbled over to the bus stop, in a large garbage bin at the stop was a record bag!.. grabbed the bag and boarded the city bus, went upstairs... inside was Dr. K, On The Level by Quo and Look At Yourself by the Heep.. and inside each album sleeve was a porno mag!!... I kid you not!
Also not handling the present. Man, the world is upside down so I live in music, especially the classic rock years 67-75. Hope you feel better soon.
Stormcock is Roy's defining album imo. I love the eccentricity of it. Favourite tune is "The Same Old Rock'
Your story on Dr K's album, what a find! I have also had similar finds. Once found a crate of records in the park, mainly [email protected], but in it was Black Sabbath's We Sold Our Soul For Rock 'n Roll in playable condition. Cover was stuffed though. I wonder how many other really cool albums are out there that we haven't heard of?
Golden memories time from 1976...
