I have a lot of their albums...very undervalued among the old prog bands I always thought, I'll be back with a Proper homage to this worthy band later today Sox.:hab:

Used to quite like VDGG, probably still got 3 or 4 old VDGG LP's somewhere (though I had to leave many of them in the US when we moved to live here, so maybe they ended up in a garage sale somewhere in the DC area!) Peter Hammill is one of the more depressing individuals in rock music, him and Leonard Cohen between them accounted for me needing to sit down with a DVD of 'Faulty Towers' to lift my spirits more than just a few times! Preferred PH's sole stuff actually, which was a little lighter and more intimate, but yeah, good band.

Another band that I will have to add to my "to listen to" list. This list is getting so full, i'm going to have a life time of music to listen to.

VDGG=gothic prog. Very eclectic band. An aquired taste, at least it was for me many years ago. Both Mk. 1&2 are very good. Godbluff and Pawn Hearts are my two favs. Haven't listened to the band much over the last few years. Here's a couple of my fav tunes:

    With Robert Fripp:

The Emperor in His War Room

    Pawn Hearts (Full Album)

Great authentic band, saw them live a few years ago in Amsterdam's Paradiso and as Sox the respect grew.

Best albums: Pawn Hearts and H to He Who Am the Only One.

Oh, they released a new album called A Grounding In Numbers. Really good, check it out.
