FireandWater, I don't argue, Stevie - a brilliant guitarist, but he's still only one of the many legends of blues-rock. But Brian May - an innovator, a genius, who has created a totally unique style that is incomparable with anything confused. Well, with regard to technology - even Jeff Beck recognized, that May is great virtuoso. Well, if talking about the impact and traces, left in rock history - excuse me, but I think, in this respect, Brian looks much racy. Among other things, May is much more versatile guitarist, is not limited to the blues-rock borders, than Vaughan. That's my personal opinion 2_sm5.gif

How about his Top 25 solos?2smile1.gif

Nice! Yeah, I like both I think it is a matter of taste. Either way, they both deserve to be on this list this far.

I have great respect to Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I don't understand, in what he is better, than Brian May? I'm very surprised...2_sm8.gif
Just about everything!? May was good at phrasing, usually short phrasing. Some cool solos. Make no mistake, I think that May is a very good guitar player, but I can't think of very many songs that he played where it was HIS playing that just grabbed me and made me think "if it wasn't for his playing style, that song would have been pretty average/weak". SRV on the other hand could speak to me with his guitar playing in a way that VERY FEW guitarists before him could do and probably not ONE guitarist has done since his passing. One of the most incredible guitar talents in the history of the 6-string.

Just my own humble opinion.
