The band needed to get better after what was a boring album in Shogun, massive improvement with this one.
I didn't hate Shogun, just think with how long that album was it was rather repetitive.
I really enjoyed Shogun though. One of my fav's by these guys.
I loved the greek mythology themes, and the vocals and instruments really drew me in. Each song took me on a journey through another world and I really enjoy the mood set in each song

I listened to In Waves album and I must say it's not that bad as I thought it might be. Different stuff than I prefer, but not something I would listen to even once a week or month on my own. I'm fine with it, if somebody plays it though. My friend recommended me them and Mick Box said on an interview, that he listens to them. So yeah, I gave a chance - liked it, but not so exciting.
