As a rule, I think Tommy Shaw did the best writing for the band.

Most definitely! Tommy Shaw was the breath of fresh air that Styx needed and what put them over the top. Their most enduring songs (played most on radio and biggest fan favorites) are Tommy Shaw songs...Blue Collar Man, Renegade, Crystal Ball, Too Much Time On My Hands (I can't stand this one, but most Styx fans really like it), Fooling Yourself...
