Holy smokes hawk! Fantastic. I'm impressed.:grinthumb

It's a lot of work isn't it? I was thinking for the 70's that I would do it year by year. I think for me, being that the 70's is my favourite decade of music it would easier. I admit that it is the easy way out, but will still be a lot work.

Again, great job.

I'm very impressed with your list as well Death on Credit. For 20 years old and having an appreciation for the 70's decade of music is very refreshing to me. A very eclectic range of artists on your list.

Excellent work buddy.:grinthumb

I will post my top albums from 1970 tomorrow. You guys have given me inspiration.

I agree Joe, DOC shows a lot of in depth knowledge about all the bands we grew up with, his list is top shelf as well.:grinthumb

Bryter I am not even going to attempt to write a list like my friends have, it would be impossible for me to rate my favorites, but I thoroughly enjoy reading my esteemed colleagues selections.:cheers2

My first thought when checking out your list Hawk was "Holy hell! Mott's at #3! That's amazing." :heheh: You have a number of other phenominal albums that follow and many of them are top choices for me as well.

Great work. :good

Thanks guys and appreciate you justfying my insanity :D.

Joe And LG, I see that we agree that the 70's was a great era for music which spawned so many amazing bands. Even some bands that started out in the 60's did their best work in the 70's. The 60's was a great era as well but thought the 70's had a better variety. The 80's was a great era for metal though not so much for rock IMO. The 90's and up had grunge and some good bands here and there though nothing compared to the 60's-70's IMO.

Nice list DOC and are also impressed with your taste in music for someone of your younger years, which goes to show that great music is timeless and can appeal to any generation. Though I have a brother who's 38 and probably never heard of 90% of the bands listed in this thread. And you would think that the music I listened to when he was growing up would have rubbed off on him....oh well.

Nice to see another Mott fan Cosmic. I've been a fan for years and always felt that they were one of the most underrated bands along with Slade, Mountain and Humble Pie. I think Mott was a masterpiece and even Rolling Stone gave it 5 stars and called it the most brilliant mood piece since Love's Forever Changes.
