...I find it both funny and sad that Stairway to Heaven wins yet another contest like that.

If it's a classic rock song poll then it's not bad, but if it's general music then I can understand why younger folks get irritated when these kind of lists come out. The bands they love are unrepresented to the point of making this a demographic contest more than a true barometer of the best songs.

Oh well, nice to see Smoke On The Water up there...

That's a pretty standard list except for LOTS of Led Zeppelin. Also there seems to be close to none from the 60s.

That's not my list, I preffer other songs.
In my list is Spirit In The Sky. - N. Greenbaum.
And not Starway To Heaven, I preffer all the other Zep Songs.
In my list the first is Have You Ever Seen The Rain. CCR.
But that's a good list

It's pretty boring doing list of classic rock songs...always is the same, as much i love Starway, it always ends on top

To be honest, I was tired of Stairway before the radio played it into the ground.
It's a long, repetitious song with a good solo, nothing more.
At least Thin Lizzy got a few spots on the list.

The difference between UK and US lists is that in UK you will always find find you'd never expect to see. Have you thought Stargazer would be that high on the list and Whitesnake or Uriah Heep to ever enter?
