I can already say that Freddie Mercury will be my #1 but I've gotten ponder on the other nine. What about everyone else?

This list might not be as tricky as the list I have yet to make for the album thread, but I'll give it a shot.

The ten I'm most likely to admire/respect more than others, usually. Or, in short, personal preferences rather than common ideals. From least, to greatest.

10. John Sebastian.
09. Davy Jones.
08. Ronnie Spector.
07. Mary Weiss.
06. Grace Slick.
05. Jim Morrison
04. Ric Ocasek.
03. Gene Simmons.
02. David Lee Roth.
01. Russell Mael

To me a great frontman/woman captivates the crowd and puts on a true show. Some might call such a show "over the top" but to me that is what escalates a singer to the status of performer, showman, entertainer, and legend.

1. Freddie Mercury
2. David Lee Roth
3. Justin Hawkins
4. Alice Cooper
5. Steven Tyler
6. David Bowie
7. Eugene Hütz
8. Axl Rose
9. Ozzy Osbourne
10. Iggy Pop

In no particular order....

Mick Jagger
Roger Daltrey
Jim Morrison
Paul Rodgers
Ronnie Van Zant
Ian Anderson
Ozzy Osbourne
Steven Tyler
David Lee Roth
Tom Petty

I don't consider John Lennon the frontman of The Beatles...or even a frontman.

Female - Janis Joplin and Grace Slick were tops.
